Account Security

At Thndr, the security of your account and investments is our top priority. We are dedicated to creating a safe platform for our users.

How does Thndr ensure the safety of my account and investments?

  • Thndr prioritizes your security through multi-factor authentication (MFA), combining something you have (your mobile device) and something you know (your password).
  •  The Thndr app adheres to industry standard security measures, including regular tests and audits to maintain a secure platform.
  • Thndr implements KYC protocols during the account creation process to confirm your identity.

What happens if I change my device?

  •  Changing devices is seamless. When logging in from a new device, we’ll send an SMS for identity verification.
  •  Remember, you can only use Thndr on one device at a time, so logging in on a new device logs you out of the previous one.

How is my Thndr account protected in case my device is stolen?

  • Stolen device protection involves a triple layered shield: the thief would need possession of your device, your SIM card, and knowledge of your login credentials.
  •  If you suspect any compromise, contact our support immediately.

How can I avoid scams while using Thndr?

Never share your account PIN/Password. Thndr will never request this information. If you suspect a scam, reach out to us on the Thndr app.

How does Thndr keep me safe?

Regulation:

Thndr follows strict rules set by the ADGM Financial Service Regulatory Authority. We have regular checks to make sure we’re doing everything right.

SSL Encryption:

Our website and app are super secure with 256-bit encryption. This keeps your personal info safe.

Bank Level Security:

We use safe servers and have strict rules inside our company to protect your money. We also have physical security to make sure everything stays private.

SIPC Protection:

Alpaca, the company we work with, is part of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). This means your investments are protected up to $500,000 if something goes wrong.

What happens if Thndr closes down?

If Thndr ever closes. You’ll still have control over your investments.
You will be able to transfer your existing securities and your wallet balance to another brokerage. The custodian of your securities (Alpaca trading) has all your securities listed under your ownership; not Thndr’s.
