Thndr passed EGP 1 trillion in trading value. Half of it happened this year.

Thndr: We've reached 1 trillion — 1,000,000,000,000 Egyptian pounds. Trading volume of Thndr investors on the Egyptian Exchange.

CUMULATIVE TRADING VALUE ON THE EGYPTIAN EXCHANGE, THROUGH THNDR, 2020 – 2026

EGP 1,000,000,000,000

One trillion. Six years to reach it. Eight months for the second half.

That’s a trillion pounds’ worth of shares, bought and sold on the Egyptian Exchange by people using Thndr since we launched in 2020. More than half of it was traded between January and August of this year.

Here’s what the number measures, what sits behind it, and what it has to do with you.

A trillion in six years, half a trillion in eight months

Cumulative trading value is the simplest measure there is: add up every buy and every sell placed through the app since day one. That total has now passed EGP 1 trillion.

The shape of it matters more than the size. In the first eight months of 2026 alone, more than EGP 500 billion was traded through Thndr. That’s over half of everything traded since launch in 2020. Eight months of this year matched the five and a half years before them.

Behind the value is a second number: more than 66 million stock trades completed to date. That’s 66 million separate decisions to buy or sell, and it’s the figure that tells you how many people are in this, not just how much money.

One in five pounds traded on the EGX now goes through Thndr

Two market-share figures, and they measure different things.

Thndr, Egypt’s #1 investment platform, now accounts for approximately 40% of Egypt’s retail trading volume, the trading done by individuals. And approximately 20% of the market’s total trading value, all trading on the exchange by anyone, passes through Thndr too. One pound in every five.

On both measures the next-largest platform is some distance behind. Trading activity on Thndr is more than six times higher, and traded value more than twice as high.

We’re not naming anyone, and this is where things stood in September 2026, not a permanent state of affairs.

Most of the people behind the number started investing here

“Since day one, we have believed in Egyptians and in the investment opportunities Egypt has to offer. Most of our users started their investment journey with Thndr, and today they have become the biggest force in Egypt’s investment landscape. Crossing EGP 1 trillion in stock market trading is more than a milestone for Thndr; it is evidence of what happens when millions of Egyptians are given an investment experience that matches their ambitions.”

— Abdelrahman Azzam, Head of Product

The line in that quote that carries the weight is the second one. Most of the people trading through Thndr didn’t move here from somewhere else. They started here.

That changes what the trillion means. If it were the same investors trading on a new app, it would be a story about a product. Because so many of them are new to investing, it’s a story about who takes part in Egypt’s market now who didn’t before.

And one plain sentence for everyone on the other side of this. If you’ve looked at the stock market and decided it isn’t for you, that’s a real choice and it isn’t ours to argue with. This piece is for the people who decided the opposite, and for anyone still deciding.

Customer satisfaction went from 51% to 81%. We’re printing the 51%.

At the start of 2026, Thndr’s customer satisfaction score was 51%. It’s now 81%, a 30-percentage-point move in eight months.

Fifty-one percent isn’t a number companies usually publish. We’re publishing it because the 81% means nothing without it, and because it says something about the year: the trading value kept growing while the experience still had a long way to go. The work since has been on making the customer experience faster and more accessible, and the score is how we check it’s landing.

Not everyone wants to pick stocks. 800,000 of you don’t.

The trillion is a stock-trading figure. A growing share of what happens on Thndr isn’t stock trading at all.

More than 800,000 users invest in funds through the app, and fund assets under custody now exceed EGP 45 billion.

Thndr’s own asset management business launched last year and has grown significantly since, with products including Thndr Clouds and Thndr Gold, built to give you access to Grade-A investment opportunities.

One thing worth saying plainly: nothing on this page is a promise about what your money will do. Prices move down as well as up, and that applies to funds and gold as much as to stocks.

What a trillion pounds means for you

Here’s the thing about the number at the top of this page: it isn’t ours. Thndr didn’t trade a trillion pounds. You did, order by order, 66 million times.

What we did was build the place where it could happen. One app, with access to the Egyptian Exchange, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and U.S. markets, covering stocks, ETFs, mutual funds and gold. More than 6 million downloads and over $1 billion in assets under custody later, Thndr is Egypt’s #1 investment platform, and the job hasn’t changed: make investing simple, accessible and trusted.

If you’re one of the people behind the trillion: thank you. The next set of numbers is yours too.

If you’ve been watching from outside, the exchange that one pound in five now runs through has room for one more. Get the app.
