Who is Alpaca?

Alpaca is Thndr’s partner that helps us offer Thndr users access to US Securities. Alpaca is a registered broker-dealer and is licensed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

How to Transfer Your Portfolio to Thndr (3 Steps)

Step 1: Request an Account Statement from Your External Broker

Step 2: Fill and Sign the ACATS Form

Tips on Filling Your ACATS Form:

  • Transfer Type: Indicate whether you’re transferring your full portfolio or part.
  • Alpaca Account Information:
    • Thndr Support will provide your Alpaca account number over chat.
    • Use your name as it appears on your Thndr account for the “Account Registration Title.”
    • Leave “SSN/Tax ID” and “Account Type” fields blank if not applicable.
  • Transferring Account Information:
    • Obtain your account number, clearing number, and address from your external broker.
    • For partial transfers, complete the “Partial Transfer Instructions” section; leave it blank for full transfers.
  • Sign and Date the form.
 

Step 3: Send the Documents to Thndr Support

Send your completed ACATS form and the most recent account statement from your external broker to our customer support team over chat.

What Happens Next?

  • The transfer process is initiated upon receiving your documents.
  • Your external broker will review the request, which may take a few working days (contact them for details).
  • Once approved, your portfolio transfer to your Thndr account will take up to 10 working days.

Note: Only whole shares can be transferred; fractional shares are not eligible.

How to Transfer Your Portfolio from Interactive Brokers (3 Steps)

Step 1: Initiate the Transfer on Interactive Brokers’ Platform

  1. Log in to your IBKR account and navigate to “Transfer & Pay” > “Transfer Positions.”
  2. Select “Outgoing Transfer,” then choose “All Other Regions” and “Free of Payment Transfer of Global Securities.”
  3. Provide the following details:
    • Financial Institution: Enter the name provided by Thndr Support.
    • Account Number: Use your Alpaca account number provided by Thndr Support.
    • Name of Account Holder: Enter your name as registered on your Thndr account.
    • Country of Financial Institution: Select United States.
  4. Specify whether you’re transferring all or part of your assets. For partial transfers, list the securities and their quantities.
 

Step 2: Fill Out the ACATS Form

Refer to the “Tips on Filling Your ACATS Form” section above.

Step 3: Send the Required Documents to Thndr Support

Send your completed ACATS form and Interactive Brokers transfer confirmation to Thndr’s customer support team over chat.

How to Transfer Your Portfolio from Saxo Bank (3 Steps)

Step 1: Initiate the Transfer on Saxo Bank’s Platform

  1. Log in to SaxoTraderGO or SaxoInvestor.
  2. Go to Portfolio Transfer and select New Transfer under the Deposits and Transfer menu.
  3. Provide Thndr’s brokerage details (available from Thndr Support).
  4. Specify the securities you wish to transfer, including their quantities and prices.
 

Step 2: Fill Out the ACATS Form

Refer to the “Tips on Filling Your ACATS Form” section above.

Step 3: Send the Required Documents to Thndr Support and Saxo Bank

  • Submit your completed ACATS form and Saxo Bank transfer request documentation to Thndr’s customer support team over chat.
  • Saxo Bank requires you to print, sign, and send a scanned copy of your transfer request to them for authorization.
