Giving a gift card is a great way to celebrate someone special and help kickstart their investment journey!

This feature is being gradually released on the Thndr app!

Sending a gift card

If you’d like to send a gift card to a friend or family member, here’s what you need to do:

1. Open the Thndr gift card page

Go to Account Page > Gift cards > Send a new gift card

2. Choose a recipient

Enter the username of the person you’d like to send the gift card to. 

*If their account is not fully registered yet, you’ll get an error message saying they’re ineligible to receive gift cards.

3. Add a personal message (Optional)

You can write a note to add a personal touch. This is optional.

Before you send the gift card, please note:

• Gift cards are non-cancellable – Once you send a gift card, you can’t cancel it.
• The amount of the gift card will show up under ‘Pending balance’ until the recipient accepts or rejects it.

4. Send the gift card

When you’re ready, click Send. The person you’re sending it to will receive a notification to claim the gift card.

Fees

• Each gift card has a sending fee of 2 EGP. This fee is only charged if the gift card is accepted.
• If the gift card expires or is rejected, you won’t be charged the fee.

Receiving a gift card

If someone has sent you a gift card:

1. Check for notifications

You have 24 hours to accept or reject the gift card. If you don’t do anything, it will expire and you won’t be able to claim it.

2. Claiming a gift card

You can find the gift card through the gift cards page.

Go to Account > Gift cards.

3. Accept or reject the gift card

Click on the gift card to see your options. If you accept, the value of the gift card will be added to your wallet. If you reject it, the sender will be notified.
