What are CI Asset Management Sectoral Funds?
CIAM (CI Asset Management) has 5 open-ended mutual funds. Each fund focuses on a different part of the Egyptian economy.
These funds are approved by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and operate under the CI-ctor umbrella fund.
There are 5 CIAM sectoral funds that invest in companies as per EGX sector classification here and related industries or in any company that has 50% of the revenue from working in such sectors according to their financial statements.
Main investment guidelines
- Equity (stocks): Minimum of 40% and Maximum of 95% of the fund.
- Per stock exposure: Maximum 15% of the fund can be invested in a single stock.
- T-bills and bonds: Maximum of 60% of the fund.
- Cash: Maximum 10% of the fund.

What sectors are available?
CIAM has 5 sector-focused funds:
CI Real Estate Sectoral Fund (CRE)
Covers companies involved in the entire real estate ecosystem—from development to construction and materials.
CI Telecoms & IT Sectorial Fund (CTI)
Focuses on telecom operators, internet service providers, and IT solution providers listed on the EGX.
CI Exporters Sectorial Fund (CEX)
Targets companies whose revenues depend heavily on exports, such as fertilizers, food producers, or industrial manufacturers.
CI Consumer & Basic Needs Sectorial Fund (CCB)
Invests in companies that serve daily needs—like food, healthcare, retail, and personal care.
CI Financial & Fintech Sectorial Fund (CFF)
Combines traditional financial services (banks, insurance) with newer fintech firms operating in digital payments or lending.
How do I subscribe?
You can subscribe to CIAM funds through the Thndr app:
- Open the Thndr app
- Tap Explore
- Search for the fund name (e.g. “CI Exporters”)
- Tap on the fund
- Press Buy and set your order amount
- Minimum buy: 11 certificates
Buying & selling
If you place your order before 10 AM:
Your order is sent the same day and executed the next day at the updated certificate price.
If you place your order after 10 AM:
Your order is sent the next business day and executed the day after that.
Fees
There are no fund fees. However, standard transaction fees apply on every buy and sell order.
Who manages these funds?
All funds are managed by CI Asset Management, a licensed asset manager with experience in launching diversified mutual fund products in Egypt with current AUMs of nearly EGP10 Billion.
