What is Bareeq (ABR)?

Bareeq (ABR) is a low-risk mixed money market and fixed income fund. It generates returns by investing in fixed-income instruments, such as treasury bills and bonds.

The fund offers the flexibility of daily subscription (buying) and redemption (selling) 

What does Bareeq (ABR) invest in?

The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of fixed-income securities, which include:

  • Treasury Bills (Up to 90% of the fund’s portfolio and no less than 20%)
  • Treasury Bonds (Up to 70% of the fund’s portfolio)
  • Other fixed-income instruments

The fund is flexible in investing between bonds and treasury bills, unlike funds that focus only on cash or fixed income. 

It allows daily subscription and redemption, and the investment manager can adjust between debt instruments based on market conditions to achieve the best returns.

The fund is managed by Arab African Investment Management (AAIM), a Leading Asset Manager in Egypt with 35 Billion EGP in assets under management as of September 2024.

How do I collect my Bareeq (ABR) earnings?

The live certificate price of ABR reflects the profit or return achieved by the fund’s investments. To collect your earnings, simply sell your ADM certificates through the Thndr app. 

Is Bareeq (ABR) Shari’a compliant?

Bareeq (ABR) is not marketed as Shari’a compliant. 

Buying & Selling

  • Orders placed before 9:00 AM are executed on the next working day, based on the certificate price of that day.
  • Orders placed after 9:00 AM are are sent on the next working day and executed on the following working day, based on the certificate price of that day.
 

Steps to place your order:

  1. Open the Thndr app.
  2. Search for Bareeq (ABR) or find it under the mutual funds section.
  3. Tap on “Bareeq (ABR).”
  4. Tap on “Buy.”
  5. Enter the amount of certificates or money you want to invest. There is a minimum of 2 certificates per order.

There are no fund management fees; however, standard Thndr fees apply
